How can we help?
Answers to the questions people ask us most, by topic. Type a few words to narrow them down.
Opening an account
Who can open a Fidorox account?
Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in a country we serve, and any business registered in one. You need an email address, a phone or computer that can hold a passkey or run an authenticator app, and an identity document.
Can I open an account today?
Not yet: sign-up opens at launch. Accounts that hold money open in stages after it, country by country. Every product page says what each product will do and when it opens.
How long does opening an account take?
Signing up takes a few minutes: your details, your email address and a password of at least 12 characters; a 6-digit code we send to confirm the address; then a passkey or an authenticator app, and a set of recovery codes to keep. Verifying your identity comes after, when it opens; we email you when you can start it.
Can I have a personal and a business account?
Yes, with one sign-in. You switch between your personal account and the businesses you belong to in the app, and each keeps its own money, cards and records.
Does it cost anything to open an account?
No. Opening an account is free, and the Standard plan has no monthly fee. These prices are proposed, and confirmed before launch.
Countries and availability
Which countries does Fidorox serve?
Fidorox is built for customers worldwide. We open country by country, and a short list of countries is closed to us by international sanctions. The countries page has the list and the reason for each.
Why can I not sign up from my country?
Either your country is under comprehensive international sanctions, which we must follow, or we do not serve it yet. In the second case there is nothing you need to do: you can sign up once we open there.
Can I use Fidorox when I travel or move abroad?
Yes. The app works wherever you are, and so will your card once cards open. What matters for your account is where you live: when you move, write to us, and we will tell you if anything changes for you.
Which currencies can I hold?
The currencies planned for the account are EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, DKK, SEK, NOK, PLN, CZK, HUF, RON, JPY, AUD, CAD, SGD, HKD, and AED. The list is confirmed at launch. When accounts open, you will hold them side by side and exchange between them in the app.
Fees and plans
What plans are there?
For people: Standard (0.00 EUR a month), Plus (4.99 EUR a month), Premium (9.99 EUR a month). For businesses: Starter (0.00 EUR a month), Grow (29.00 EUR a month), Scale (99.00 EUR a month). These prices are proposed, and confirmed before launch.
What is “our rate” when I exchange?
The market rate at the moment you exchange, with no markup, up to the amount your plan includes each month. Above that, and at weekends when currency markets are closed, a small fee applies; the app shows it before you confirm.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Once plans open, you can change or cancel yours at any time in the app. A paid plan is charged monthly; when you cancel, it runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
Security and sign-in
What is a passkey?
A passkey is a key your phone or computer keeps for you, unlocked with your face, your fingerprint or your device’s PIN. It only works on fidorox.com and our app, so a fake site cannot trick you into giving it away, and there is nothing for anyone to steal from us.
What if I lose my phone?
Sign in on another device with a second passkey, your authenticator app or one of your recovery codes, then remove the lost phone from your account. Without any of those, our support team can help once we have checked it is really you.
Why am I signed out after five minutes?
The rules for payment accounts ask that a session ends after at most five minutes without activity, so an unattended screen cannot be used by someone else. The app warns you before it signs you out.
Will Fidorox ever ask for my password or codes?
Never. Nobody at Fidorox will ask for your password, a code we sent you, a recovery code or to approve a sign-in, by phone, email or message. If someone does, it is not us: end the conversation and write to us.
I found a security problem. How do I report it?
Write to our security team. We answer every report, and we do not take legal action against good-faith research that follows our disclosure policy.
Crypto
Which crypto-assets will I be able to buy?
A short list of the most established ones: BTC and ETH are planned, and the list is confirmed at launch. We add an asset only after our own review, and we never promote one.
Is crypto covered by any protection scheme?
No. Crypto-assets are volatile: their price can fall as fast as it rises, and you can lose all the money you put in. They are not covered by any deposit guarantee or investor compensation scheme. Put in only what you can afford to lose.
Who holds my crypto?
Your crypto-assets will be held in custody by our licensed crypto-asset partner, kept apart from its own assets and recorded in your name. The regulatory information page names the partner and its licence.
Why is crypto not available where I live?
The rules for crypto-assets differ from country to country, and we will offer crypto only where the rules allow it. When crypto opens, the app will say whether it is available to you.
Business
Which businesses can open an account?
Companies and other registered businesses in the countries we serve. The person who opens it becomes its owner, and invites the rest of the team.
How do roles and permissions work?
Each person on a business account has one of four roles: owner, admin, member, and viewer.
Owner: Everything, including the team, its owners and the business’s details. A business always keeps at least one owner.
Admin: Manages the team and the business’s details, except its owners.
Member: Works in the business’s account. Cannot manage the team.
Viewer: Sees the business’s account and team. Changes nothing.
Approvals before a payment leaves, and a limit for each person and each card, are coming with payments and cards.
Can my accountant have access?
Yes. Invite them as a viewer: a viewer sees the business’s account and team, and changes nothing.
Is there an API?
Not yet. The API comes after the business account; the API page says what we are building and how to hear when it opens.
No answer matches those words.
